My response to illegal requests is to no longer email or correspond with you. First I will let you know that your request is illegal. If it is obvious that you already new that or you press the issue I will end correspondence with you.

My guess is that I have more than one illegal request every week.

I don't ship axolotls to N.J. or Ca.
I don't ship salamanders to Hi without a permit.
You can't own a hellbender.
I can't send eggs to other countries without paperwork.
I can't ship or sell you any native Pa. salamanders.
My understanding is that if you live in N.J. and explain to me you will pick up the axolotl and take it home I'm breaking the law selling it to you.

Hey Michael,

Not relevant to me, but why are axolotls illegal in New Jersey? Can they escape and over-winter? I was not aware they are that cold tolerant!

My understanding is that they are to hard to distinguish from a native Ambystoma tigrinum. Any gilled salamander is not legal to have in New Jersey. That really narrows things down. Many of the laws are ill conceived and hard to decipher. I try to follow them.

I brought my morphed A.Andersoni to OR in Jan, and someone contacted me about it prior.

when they came to the show they said "Oh I thought it was a tiger salamander, could you get me one?"

Uh, NO! illegal in both OR and WA.
