Hello all:
I hope that someone can help me. I have a tiger salamander (approx 5 years old) who has recently shown some changes in behavior. He has always been very aggressive and feisty, but, for the last two days has been rather lethargic. He still eats enthusiastically, but after striking, his head bobs for a few seconds. He has not lost any weight, and there has been no change in his appearance I have never seen anything like it.
His enclosure is kept at approx 70 degrees fahrenheit with Bed-a-Beast substrate. He has a small, shallow pool for soaking. His diet consists of gut-loaded crickets, and occasional worms (superworms, or phoenix worms).
I recently lost my other tiger to septicemia (he was kept in a separate enclosure and showed very different symptoms from this tiger), and am still heartbroken. I am terrified at the thought of losing my second tiger as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.
