the dates for this year's conference are may 5-7. i think i can make it and want to book a table so caudates will have a definite presence at the sale room. i need to look for others who are willing to go halfsies, or even up to 4 people who want to share a room. dont really want to commit to a flight if i havent got somewhere to stay first.

I will be giving an updated talk on amphibian nutrition and what we do not know, there will be at least one speaker on chytrid, and if we get the logistics worked out a hands on workshop on how to drill your own tank. Keep an eye on the events site as it should be updated soon.

I'll be their and have a vendors table. I'll have a couple types of salamanders, dart frogs, live foods, salmon pellets etc.

Barring some major upsets in life, I'll be there but I'm local so that doesn't help you Paris. I've been thinking about getting some prints of my caudate art made up but I didn't think I'd sell enough to make it worth my effort to get a table. Any interest in maybe selling some stuff on commission for me? I could probably find the time to do a couple of dart frog paintings by then too just to get some extra interest.

Paris, Are you going to have a table at IAD? If any of you that are coming want to defray your costs by selling me a few c.b. amphibians let me know. I'm finalizing my plans and will be sending in my reservations soon.

I was really hoping to come, but I have to play in the pit for a musical the next weekend, so I don't know if I can come. I'm hoping I can sneak down. I wasn't able to go last year. Alex.

i need to find a place to crash first, if i can find someone to share a room with -or someone local who's attending who wouldn't mine me as a house guest. the plane ticket i can afford right now. if i got a table id want one near you mike-that way we'd have a 'salamander district'!

If you want to find people to room with you might want to check on dendroboard or frognet. It looks like I'll be commuting. I'm getting two tables and will be setting up a display only tank of whatever of my adults look best at the moment. I'm getting excited already.

Well at first I was scheduled to work but a coworker wanted to trade weekends in May so used this to my advantage. I'm very much looking forward to it now (even though I'm not planning on picking up any animals - unless someone REALLY surprises me with some female T. taliangensis or legal Echinotriton). Still though, I look forward to the talks and it will be nice to match faces to names for those of you attending.

Paris, I forgot to mention in my previous post that if it were just me you would be welcome to split the cost of a room however my girlfriend is coming along so this would not be an option. I hope that it works out for you.

well to add to my palatability-i sleep on floors very well, hardly ever snore, and am scary enough to ward off potential cat burglers.

Well you sound like a fine guard dog

but I think that my girlfriend would still have a problem with it.

We would probably offer to let you stay with us but we're about an hour from Timonium and more to the point, we're not really sure we'll still be here in May. At this point it looks like a move may be in order for us before then.

looks like i'm going!! i got a room with my mom's milage points. now i have to get a plane ticket...

Does anyone know of any good aquarium/pet shops in the nearby vicinity?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
