Identify Newt

I bought a newt yesterday and it was sold as a Chinese Fire Belly. However after comparing with pics I think it is a paddle tail.. Can anyone confirm this? It's longer than any CFBN I've ever kept.

I'd have to say the same based on tail and head shape.

Yes, Pachytriton. Beware, these guys often have to be kept individually, as they are an aggressive species.

This has been the most active newt I've kept. It keeps moving around and the best thing is, it even follows my finger when I press it against the side! A very voracious eater too. I'm keeping the newt in a totally aquatic environment and it seems to be doing well.

I can't find any care sheets on this species and I do not know this species requirements..
And if I can't keep it with the same species, can I keep it with other species like cynops orientalis? It is currently alone in a 15 gallon and the tank looks kind of empty. (No gravel but there are some decor such as false plants and rocks, for easy removal of debris)

The shop was keeping like 20 of this newts in a 5 gallon!

Thanks for the link. So stream dweller? I have to provide a current then.

I would provide a current BUT place rocks (preferably flat ones) to form caves with no current in them so the newt can get out of the water flow. Also make sure that the current is not so strong that the newt cannot stand still on the bottom or rise up easily for air without being 'blown' around.
According to another article in a reptile mag (I have lent it to someone so I can't rememebr who it was by or which magazine, but I think it was Theismeier) said that water current is not important, but the crucial factor is clean, cool and well-oxygenated water.
