just flicked through Amphibiaweb and apparently Salamandrella has been split into two species, S. keyserlingii and S. schrenckii. Can anyone give anymore information on this?

William, I read that in our Dutch Urodela newsletter too. The ancestor of the both species used to live 14 mil. years ago. They look the same, so it's a cryptic species once again.

S. schrenckii live in Primorsky District on the Russian Far East.

Dear friends,
it should be remembered that the biggest Web Caudata Library of the Moscow International Caudata Club ( www.caudata.ru ) accumulates constantly its library stock. And the article is no exception :
www.caudata.ru/pdf-caudata/S_schrenckii_english.pdf
We have hundreds caudate articles in English.
Read articles about tailed amphibians!
