I need help! I have a problem! I blame all of you for feeding my addiction!!

I lie in bed late at night searching ads for fish tanks for sale.... I find myself bidding on eBay at midnight.... I search gumtree daily & often see bargains but keep missing out....

Last night an ad went on Gumtree at midnight & I emailed back by 00:15 lol
This morning I get the call that I can have them - have to pick up by midday... Drag husband out of bed then drive to pick up another 2 tanks!

48" wide x 12" deep x 20" high $40
30" wide x 18" deep x 18" high $20

Such a bargain!!!!
They are only 3months old! Like new!!
Plus he gave me about 500 guppies mostly fry, from the most beautiful guppy tank he had... :D

I spend my days lugging water & tending to the 6 tanks I've acquired in the last 6 months! Now I've got 8 tanks!!

Needless to say my husband is looking to find a therapist for me urgently lol

what about making them into environments? a little desert with cacti , some nice tropical plants etc ... just some low maintenance ideas

I prescribe alcohol and long evenings watching your Doberman and Axolotls.

You are clearly suffering from stress verging on OCD, studies have shown that watching aquariums is relaxing so you are in effect self medicating  (your other options would be anti depressants and/or ECT so I'd stick with your current treatment regime if I were you).

I've had a better idea.

Silicone together some pipes and make a Water Park for Axolotl's - slides, wave machines the works, your 6 foot tank could be the end 'splash zone' :D

Don't laugh I'm looking at getting some clear acrylic pipes to make something already

I'm starting to picture one of those crazy cat houses that have the high shelf rail around the room - it'd be so cool to see them just cruising around the room :D

It's taken 6 hours but 4 tank have just become 2 .... Took forever but it's done :)

This is my view from my kitchen counter (loving it!) & my husband thinks I'll actually do any cooking in there now...
Nope... just some worm prep ;)

Have your husband in charge of all the money - or me ;) Don't allow him to buy any more tanks or axolotls! Otherwise you could build a massive axolotl tank in your house, like a room that's a tank, and get some scuba gear and go swimming with them... Ignore my first option, I prefer the second.

It's alright I just keep reminding him that my tank addiction costs a lot less than our car addiction >_<

That's just the 2 in the garage!
The other 3 live outside

There's still lots of room on that counter for tanks!

Let me know when you find a cure. I'm up to 23 occupied and 4 in progress. And another 2 on my eBay watch list. RSI from bucket carrying and strange smells where water has spilled on the carpet. And an electric bill that's going to have the police round looking for 'exotic' plants in the garage....

I forgot to mention that when picking up the tanks the guy mentioned he'd have an identical 4' in a couple if weeks
- I 'may' have indicated my desire for this other tank at the time ;)

So this morning I get a call from the tank guy & he asks if I still want it (it was only yesterday I picked up the tank!) he tells me all the fish have been sold & picked up so he's cleaned it out & it's ready to go  wants it picked up before 4 & would I be interested in some filters too?

Keep in mind poor hubby already did a tank run yesterday & I hadn't quite broken the news about just 1 more tank yet.... So with gritted teeth I mentioned it & was made to 'promise' this was the last tank & that I have to now get rid of 2 tanks - sold on eBay within 2 weeks.the tanks I want gone are the AquaOne - filter in hood with built in lights & very poor access to fiddle.

So now I have a duplicate 4'ft tank
& 3 AquaClear70 job filters 0.0
I'll be fiddling with tanks again tomorrow :D

I wish your hubby would do a tank run for me. I jealously think about your fabulous tanks and just know that my little blue hatch would never be able to pick one up.

I'm always available to do tank runs for fellow caudata members ;)

Some of the bargains are amazing.
But they're not all great tanks! I went on Friday to pick up a tank I won the auction on at 11pm the night before. The tank looked great 4' tank $42 - handed over my money then went to pick up the tank & sliced open my finger tips on the underside. It had been 'stored' on concrete slab with nothing underneath & the entire glad lip around bottom was shattered into bits from the tank being dragged around & moved on concrete 0.0 thankfully the guy helping me lift it also cut his fingers - he tried to tell me it's be fine & then I asked if he'd be confident in it holding over 100kg of water.... Needless to say he handed back my cash - I suggested relisting it as a snake house or something. So Saturday & Sundays tanks were perfection compared to that other tank.

I'll be selling 2 AquaOne tanks in the next couple if weeks -
AR620 (silver)& AR850 (black)
I'm just going to steal their bacteria first :)
