How long does the nitrogen cycle take if your using FIN water conditioning and bacteria supplements in a 10 gallon tank but only filled it at 7 gallons and used 7 mL's of conditioning and supplement.

How do you lower pH levels?

How do I clean the filter without getting rid of the good bacteria that has grown on it. I heard if you squeeze the sponge in the filter it's like starting over and that isn't good for your axolotl.

Do you still have to add water conditioning and bacteria supplement in the water if you filling the 15-20% of water back up after cleaning your tank if you use spring water?

You defiantly have to keep putting the conditioner in the water after water changes. It takes the chlorine out of the water so it is safe for your little axie to live in.

As far as the filter cleaning goes, I just rinse it with old tank water when I do a water change. You still have good bacteria living in your tank in other places. When your filter gets turned back on, that good bacteria will regrow with help from what lives in the rest of the tank.
