I have a few questions please help.

I will be getting some axies soon and i want to start getting the tank ready and i have a few questions. so much information i find goes against each other.
1. can i use beach sand?
2.how long does it take eggs to hatch?
3. so its ok to keep axies in tupperwares at first?
4. how old is ok to put them together?
any other useful tips you got are apprecieted.

Welcome to the forum, Michaela.

I'm glad to see you're researching your axolotls before they arrive.

In short:
1. No, it has too much salt. Use 'play' sand or pool filter sand. Wash it well.
2. Depends on how warm it is. 2-4 weeks
3. Yes, I keep mine in tupperware until they're 2 inches or so.
4. Any age is fine. Younger are more cannibalistic, but with enough space and enough food, this is minimal.

As for future reference, the forum has a great 'search' function, and there is a VAST array of knowledge on the forum that can be accessed through that. Many of your questions have been answered ad nauseum and can easily be read up on instead of rehashed again and again.

Can you link the different types you had in mind please?

I use fake sand because it looks nicer but real sand is use-able aswell if thats what you were thinking about.

You can use aquarium sand. Do NOT use calci-sand or reptile sand. Some of the colored sands also leach colors into your water.

Sands marketed for marine aquariums and rift lake cichlids are also not to be used.. These are usually made of crushed coral or other carbonates and will raise the pH and KH of your water.

Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a 50lb $3 bag of children's play sand.
