I finally made it over to Henk's to collect my 5 subadult H. dunni. This first pic is of one of the smaller two. It is quite dark,even though I upped the brightness on photoshop, but it was taken on a digital vid. camera inside Henk's newt shed, where there was not enough natural light for my SLR. I have more pics taken on the SLR being developed as I type, and I'll post as soon as I get them digitised (is that a word???).
They have settled into their tank so well that I rarely see them (I have had them about a week) and only do so by actively searching for them. Henk said that the larger three may breed this spring so fingers crossed...

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
