Hi!

I added an almond leaf to my tank because my axie is getting some sort of rot limb so I was recommended to try an almond leaf, but this is also supposed to lower the PH

at the moment the PH is 7, but the leaf already sunk so it should start to release tannins now
also my water tested "soft" with 1 or less carbonate hardness...

how can I fix the hardness and rise the PH without risking the axie's health?

thanks!

You could always put a little bit of cuttlebone into the filter to help keep a balance. How many leaves did you put in? You might not need to alter the pH further, especially if it holds out at around 7. My water is somewhat acidic and my axolotls have been fine so far. Just keep an eye on it.

I added only 1 leaf, it's quite big
I am testing the water everyday and so far is stuck at 7 .
should I add something for the hardness or will the leaf help with that too??

My axie is having issues with his toes, they get bloody and lately he gets fungus on them, there's nothing that could harm him in the tank so it has to be something in the water...
