so, iv decided to keep a few babies for myself. but im not super sure on the best way to set up an area for them. I want something easy for daily water changes, I was thinking of keeping them in small custard cups, but then the issue of bubbler came up. im not certain, but I believe babies need bubblers. do they? or do they do what the parents do and go to the surface for air? I don't have a lot of space, or places to keep a bunch of babies, esp. at cannibal age. any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I've been raising my first babies from eggs for the past two months. I found it easiest to keep them in small food containers at first. I kept them all in one at first and then divided them into smaller groups as they were growing at different speeds. Once they outgrew the food containers I moved them to bigger storage containers.
They usually won't try to eat each other when they're very little, it usually starts around the time their legs start growing. Plenty of food, hides and space will help with it though, I only recently had my first accident when one wild type baby decided to attack his tankmate. I don't think any of the others have even really tried, that one has just been way more aggressive than the others and he is now housed alone.
They don't need bubblers. There will be enough oxygen in the water for them. I think their lungs develop around the same time as their back legs so before that they won't go up for air.

Bubblers isn't useful and may disturb the babies.
As keiko said, they will need plenty of food (so plenty of waste as a consequence), so consider frequent water changes. If this condition is filled, oxygen may not be a problem.

ok, thank you guys! I just wasn't sure, little bowels will work great then, and yes, daily water changes. :)
