Does anyone have any idea's for promoting breeding between axolotl's?

In most cases, if you feed them very well (worms are recommended) and get them cold in winter, nature will take its course. There may be other ways to manipulate them, but the simplest is to use these natural cues of nature. Some people say that a large water change will get them going.

How old are you axies, and how long have you had them together? Right now in the southern hemisphere, it's sort of the wrong time of year to think about breeding.

Cori, I fully agree with Jennifer, letting them get a natural change in temperature, and daylength is probably safest. I have also had some success with keeping the pair separate for several weeks to a month in shallow water. Keep the pair well fed and after a few weeks place them in a larger volume of water, and you may have some luck. Axolotls are very simple to breed and will sometimes do it randomly without any artificial stimulation.

Thank-you, Was not so much looking for unnatural ways to get them to breed more so just a few pointers, thought there may be a trade secret or two floating around, he he he.

I am not sure on the exact age of my axie's the current family have been together about 4 months. They are about 15cms long. I have two females and a male together ( I have another black axie waiting for me at my local pet shop )
