Hi,

The first 2 eggs hatched this morning before I woke up. I've managed to get one of the little guys out and into a smaller tub but I'm just wondering how people normally move the babies around.

I'm looking at my turkey baster and wondering if I can use that to move the other little guy out of the egg tank so that I can put some food in with them in case they get hungry while they wait for the others to hatch.

I won't do it unless someone says that it's OK, haha I just keep looking at it thinking "well they're quite small..."

I could open up the end of the baster so it's larger?

You can turkey baster them, but you have to be really careful about it. I accidently eviscerated one once. Oops.

Another good way to do it is to take a drinking straw. Put your thumb over the end and put the other end right next to the larva. Take your thumb off, and the larva will be sucked into the straw. Put your thumb back over the end, move the larva in the straw to the new tub, and let your thumb off, and the larva will fall back into the water.

I definitely won't be trying the baster! Sounds dangerous :(

Great idea with the straw, and luckily I have one so I may try that. Another baby has just hatched so I'm three down, 220 to go......

I've also scooped a couple with a tea spoon
