I love the look of that lid, but it doesn´t look particularly tight fitting. Depending on the species you might want to go for a material that allows a tighter fit.
I make mine with wood, mesh and staples xD Not the best looking lids, but very easy to make, (and damn fast...it takes me about 15 minutes to make one). You can make them so that they fit very tightly into the plastic frame.

That looks like the track used to make screen windows. You can probably find it at a home improvement store; if not, you can get it online. Just search for "screen window parts". Another option is to buy some old screen windows from a salvage yard and cut them down to fit. I agree with Azhael, it doesn't look terribly secure as is; you should probably take steps to eliminate gaps and clip or weigh it down to prevent escapes.

That lid looks like it fits perfect to me. Its dead on!

Lowes has all the parts you need but I agree that you could probably find scrap,.. maybe Craigslist.

I would also just for safe sake add a bead of black silicone to the track the mesh fits in but that thing looks perfect!

Thanks for your replies. I looked for screen window parts. I can only get those online here and they are very expensive.
The lid would probably cost more than the tank so I'll make it from wood.
