How often do I feed...?

Hi, I'm kind of new to the forums.

Anyways, I'm wondering how often I should feed my Salamanders. I don't know what species they are but they really like crickets. They are almost 1 year old and are about 3 inches long. I usually feed them crickets 1/4 their size. My salamanders refuse to eat dry food and only eat live food. So the only thing I can only feed them is crickets. How often should I feed them? Or is there a better food for them?

Did you catch them or buy them? What species they are can make a real difference.

Try to post a pic of them chris. You can feed them earthworms or redworms or even small nightcrawlers. Cut up pieces work well too, just as long as they are still wiggling. Get a ceramic or plastic tray and put them in there. Then burry the tray in the substrate until it is level with the substrate, that way the salamanders can see the worms. I would look at the local bait shop to get the worms.

Here is a pic of what it looks like here -> http://www.vernalpool.org/images/37_jf_a.jpg

I'm not really sure what species it is because they are from the wild. I live in Canada and someone caught them for me in a nearby pond.
I don't feed earthwoms or redworms because they cant climb back on land if they fall in the water. The crickets I feed them are about 2cm long(as big as their stomach)
