How much sand will I need?

So I think ive decided to go with a thin layer of sand in my axolotl tank. Not to thick maybe 1/2" or less of sand. Maybe deeper in the back so i can plant some things.

The tank is 5feet by 18"
Im just wondering if anyone knew roughly how much sand i would need for the tank?

That will help but i'd recommend maybe going with one inch because they might constantly dig to the floor and leave the bottom glass exposed.

Thank you very much you nay be right. I just dont want to put to much weight in the tank, but i will check how much i need and go from there.

It only says 50lbs to make a 1" deep layer. I wAs thinking i would need at least 100lbs to do 1/2" so thats great! Thanks now I wont end up over buying sand

Just added sand hope this works out
