How much height does an axolotl need?

I was just browsing through some sites with tanks on there and found a possible upgrade tank for my axolotl's and I was wondering if 8" is enough height for an axolotl? Has anyone kept their axolotl in shallow containers?

It's a coral tank, but I don't see why this wouldn't work, and its fairly cheap if you consider it's got better dimensions on it than a 125wide, which was going to be the tank size I was looking at

The only problem you'll run into is that with a shallow tank, you'll have to fill it up higher (with an 8" tank, I suspect around to the top). If you don't have a lid, you run the risk of having your axolotl jump out. Of course, you could just make a lid if you're crafty.
