Your tank size sounds fine for a pair of FBN. Breeding is not quite as simple as giving them the right sized tank and waiting. There are lots of other factors to consider such as photoperiod, temperature, age of the newts etc. Even if you give them the correct conditions they may still fail to breed for you. Good luck!
