WOW. WOW!!! I love it, and that 2nd picture could win a photo award, beautiful!

i wish i could get my fire salamander tank to look that nice does yours swim i read they could not

Hello Charles,

one of my obsessions is to collect stones;-))
So for to fix that setup i needed just some hours, and a visit in a Gardencenter to pick up some ferns.
All the other stuff i took out of the wood near by my house.
This setup rules now for a couple of years.

@Chris: I saw my Salamandra swimming.

greetings Ingo

Coooooool!!!! Very very nice. I like that vivarium!

I was under the impression that Salamandra can easily drown in the shallowest of water, especially S.s.terrestris.

I've read that too, but my terrestris like to bath and regularly 'swim' in the large water dish I have. I think it'd take one angry tail flick to get across that pool. There seem to be plenty of stones to get out.

You've got a natural born swimmer.

nice viv!!! makes my terrestris viv look like a shanty. i wish my s.s. terrestris had such a setup!!

no-one else has ask but how is the aqua part mantained??? filters, pumps stones, water changes??

Hello,

for the water pond i don`t use a filter.
The shore i built with sandstones.
Here is a pic that can explaine it better:

that tank does look pretty good and pretty clean considering the fact that you don't use a filter.....

nice work....

Beautiful!

I like your background - it looks like you painted the design on the back glass on the outside. Is that correct?

I did that on a couple of my betta tanks a few years ago

Man u guys really out do urselves on these tanks...these pictures r tempting me to fix up my aquariums but whenever i consider doing it i think that it will be difficult to clean and if i use sillicon for sumtin i feel i wont be able to use it for anything else....argggg

One of the most beautiful tank for caudata I ever saw!!! Very very very beautiful! Congratulations! The salamandra is very beautiful too!!!

Hello,

in that tank i keep 2,2 Salamandra salamandra terrestris together with 2,2 Bombina orientalis.

Yes, the background is glass painted.

Greetings Ingo V.

Your Salamandra and Bombina get all that they need. Congratulation
