How easily do axxies get startled?

Hi Guys,

I've decided to keep my axxies because they are gorgeous and I'm looking at getting a 4ft tank for when they grow a bit. The thing is the only place I can fit it is in a bay window in the living room and the window sill there is the territory of my 4 cats. I'm not sure how I'd stop them from jumping on top of the tank (it has a very sturdy lid and it's on a sturdy cabinet) so I was wondering if the sound of the cats on top would freak them out.

Any advice would be appreciated as they are getting to big for their present home.

I would advise against the window sill. Axies are nocturnal creatures and dislike direct light.

In my experience Axolotls mostly get riled by things within the tank, such as tankmates or any indication that it's feeding time
