Your so lucky! I have 5 fish tanks and a fire belly one at the moment in my room. But four of those fish tanks are below 5 gals so theyre not too big! I got a free 2ft tank the other day and want to use it but my parents say i dont have the room!
Where do you keep all your tanks full of axies and newts!

Everywhere- two in the living room (a 20 gallon and a 40 gallon), in the dining room (100 gallon), in the kitchen (10 gallon)
and I want three more!

i keep my caudates in the basement-cold
and my reptiles in my room-warm

We have 7 .A 55 with cichlids ( have to upgrade to a 125 because they are starting to get huge)a 29 with angle fish. 45 with C.Orientalis. 30 with Bombinatoridae . A 20 long with scorpions. The 2 kids have 10 gallons with fighting fish. And 3 more 10 gallons with 21 C.orientalis larva . Rottweiler and a boxer. My house is a zoo. I keep my newts and frogs in a seperate cold room that used to be my wifes pantry lol and then I get to turn the 55 into a habitat for something else I don't know yet what that will be

Your so lucky,i want to find some more room in my bedroom but not having to much luck!

I only have one tank (20 gal), its in my basement. I plan on getting at least one more (10 or 20 gal for some waterdogs [Necturus]).

My room and basement. I keep my room nice and cool for my Chinese Firebellies.

Small extra bedroom with a window unit and a mini-fridge for blackworms, earthworms, frozen bloodworms and a six pack of beer. I have a custom stand I built that holds six ten gallon tanks for breeding in the "newt room", a 55 in the den, a 28 in the living room, and a 20 long in the kids room. Another rack for three more ten gallons is under construction and then I will build a custom tank across the top of both stands with a drain for easy water changes on the nine ten gallons. That amounts to ten tanks on 12 square feet of floor space. So to answer your question, stack 'em up!

i got 2 48x12x18 tanks, 2 24x12x12 tanks and 3 12x12x18 tanks all in my living room.... my wife hates it but it makes the room more tranquil

i have every square inch of my garage taken up to the extent you could'nt fit a spark plug in let alone a car.

Some people keep their newts and salamanders outside. I'm going to make a wooden square to put on the ground in a suitable area. There will be a mesh screen in the ground so the salamanders don't dig their way out and a mesh screen on top the square so the salamanders don't climb out. I'll use it for a few of my redbacks. It'll be huge too. with lot's of hiding spots. I hope to breed them in it; probably next year though.

I am currently keeping my newts in a spare bedroom, and it is a little hard to keep them cool in this hot weather, but I find that putting de-chlorinated ice-cubes on the screen and letting them melt and drip into the terrarium is a very good idea, I saw the idea on a website before I bought my newts. I decided to try it, and it brought the water temp down at least 4 degrees! I also have a 10 gallon with a betta, and hopefully two dwarf frogs soon, and then a 30 gallon with Cichlids both in the living room, and then a 20 gallon with more cichlids in our open den area. I am hoping to buy a VERY large (around 100 gallons) for one of my cichlid tanks, they are still babies but getting bigger, but not sure where it will fit! I am most likely going to make my basement like a jungle, as I plan on getting more types of newts, and hopefully some poison Dart frogs!!

The real problem is when you need to move, and tell the prospective landlord what you mean by a "few tanks".

Yeah that is a good one! lol Yeah I may be moving in a few months, and I have alot of tanks full of fish! That is so true Jeff! That would be the real problem, is trying to be able to move all the animals/tanks without stressing them to our new homes, as well! hehe!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
