How do you clean your rocks/clay pots and so on..?

I got some slate rocks from work along with a few large river rock, how do you clean them?
ive been running them under hot water any ideas?

Before you put them in the tank? Scrub them with a stiff nylon brush.

damn, i shoulda just waited, putt them in hot water with a small amount of bleach and let them soak then rinsed them and am letting them soak again.

im just worried and dont want to kill my first axie
