Hello,

I just had a new juvenile axolotl delivered to my work and it appears stressed (the tip of it's tail is bent). I just put it in fresh cold dechlorinated tap water and placed a sheet of paper over the top of it's container for shelter/shade. How do I de-stress it? I have access to a fridge, should I put it in there? Just wondering if there's anything I can do for the little thing now before I get him home. Hopefully it's just a little shook up from the shipping and will unwind soon.

Thanks!

Marty

Hi, you've done well so far, as you say, its been on a very stressful journey. It may just need the calmness now and shade, and should settle down. Some food may help, but cold stable water and shade/cover should work. Have'nt had to use the fridging method before, so can't advise on that, but i know it is helpful for some conditions, good luck with your axolotl.
