I've searched the forums, and although a lot of people have mentioned making a tank divider, putting one in or finding a way for mesh or wire to stay put, but no one has actually posted how they did it or if they were successful in making it stay put or not.

I need to separate Gem from Copper and, especially, Anda. I've noticed that Gem likes hassling them both and Anda's tail has been nibbled at. So, can someone please, please tell me how they divided their tank, what they used and how they got the material to stay put?

Hey i bought one from amazing amazon they were pretty expensive from what i can remember its just plastic with about 12 gaps . i know you can buy a little bit of plastic with 2 suction caps on either side that keeps the divider in place I dont think they were very expensive maybe a few dollers for 2 so not to bad. i asked about glass . thats no good as the water cant flow so i was thinking even plexiglass would be okay if you cut holes or sections into it where the water can actually get to both sides of the tank. but keeps the little guy out.

i have a photo of what i use to separate mine and the suction caps. .. would be happy to post it up.i also have some cheep ones that actually came with the set up that is just a suction cap with a little clamp on the end. very cheap and dont think it works to well.

You can use needle-point mesh, and put display folder binders on the outside, to keep it in place.
If you make it to the right measurements, it will fit snugly in place - but you can also use suction cups.

Thank you for the answers and tips  My tank, however, is a particular challenge to divide. Hopefully the pics will tell the story. Yes the middle bit on top is glass and yes its glued. I've tried putting the 2 bits of glass I've got in the middle, but it leave 2 holes on each side, big enough, as I've just found out, for Gem to get through.

If anyone needs anymore pics, lemme know and I will take some

This is a store in North Geelong Home that cuts plastic (perspex in particular) to size for people. I called up and they said it would be around $10 and a bit extra for holes. :) Not sure if they deliver but you could always take a trip down to Geelong some time.

As for holding it in place,
Age of Aquariums - Aquarium Divider Holder 4pk try these. I haven't tried them yet, but they were highly recommended to me.

Geelong is only about an hour from me and I'll be more then happy to go there, but it will have to wait til next week, when I have a full day off work  I have ordered the divider holders already. Thank you so much for your help! :D

p.s I googled and found out that there is a plastic cutting place about 15mins drive from me =) Thanks again for the help though =D

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
