I use:
-Api freshwater master test kit, it has the most important tests (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH).
-Api liquid tests for GH and KH.
-Test strips for quick check-ups. I prefer JBL EasyTest 6 in 1 test strips (nitrite, nitrate, pH, GH, KH and chlorine).

I use the API Master Freshwater Test Kit, £20 on Amazon, which is the cheapest I've seen it. In some shops it can retail for as much as £31!
It lasts probably about six months and does PH, High Range PH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. All you need in one handy kit.
