Im thinking about feeding the axolotl im getting brine shrimp but i don't know how big the brine shrimp get and do u only feed brine shrimp to baby axolotl
Brine shrimp are best for little axies 2" and under i would say. If the food is too litle the axie wont bother with it, and for a bigger axie, tiny brine shrimps wouldnt be very nutritious. Although i suppose you could try as a treat.
I've got cherry shrimp in my tank (i think, haven't seen any in a few days lol!) and they grow a bit bigger than brine shrimp I think. Maybe try those out instead?
If you are hatching the shrimp it wont be much longer until your axie will grow to big and ignore the food source. Unless you raise the shrimp to adults( which takes the hatchery, constant light, food and 3 weeks).
You just buy ghost shrimp, ive not heard of anyone having a hatchery. Buy some adults and if the tank conditions are good, they will just breed themselves Although cherry shrimp are more expensive they breed a lot more than ghost shrimp, really its up to you depending on your circumstances
Brine shrimp are only for newly hatched axolotls. If your axolotls have legs already, they're too big for brine shrimp. Nobody raises brine shrimp to adults.
If your axolotls are big enough to eat shrimp, give them something healthy instead, like earthworms or pellets.
