Ok ready???

a floating tunnel!

heres what im thinking

1 buy an apporpriate size of PVC pipe and fishing line
2 use silicon and sand to cover the pipe (this doesnt have to be done to run it as a trial)
3 run the fishing line through the PVC and then tie it to my screen (i didnt by a 'Hood" for my axi tank but a reptile cage thingy for evaporation)
4. enjoy!

does anyone see any problems with this idea???

thanks!

That sounds like a really interesting little tunnel! If I were an Axie, I bet that'd be a lot of fun.

Sounds like a great idea! They might swim into the fishing line but i doubt that would hurt them. You could even attach some moss to the top, it would look like something out of avatar! :D

They sell floating betta fish logs like that, essentially a floating tube. Though I'm always for the DIY projects

=P i did it the other day!!! ill take pics soon.

i think the axolotls are confused about this floating tunnle. they sit there and look at it, but i havent seen any moves to check it out! lol

but it looks cool im going to try and get moss to grow all over it

Have they used it at all?

I had a floating tunnel/log thing that I tried out in my axolotl tank (but wasn't purchased for that). They never used it, so it went in my T. granulosa tank and got covered with java moss. They loved it.

not that ive seen yet, but sadly i only get a little bit of time a day to watch them. As its the last month of school so many test and papers!!! aaaaaaa, im just trying to keep up with cleaning and feeding.... but may will come fast! then ill have time to watch ALL day! =D and soon a bigger tank!

but if i notice them using it i will deff let you know!
