Hong kong warty not taking to the water

in a nutshell, i have a pair of hong kong wartys in a 2' tank with a pair of axolotls and a weather loach.

recently the female decided to take a trip across my house, and when i found her she was barely alive. i put her back in the tank, and she 'wetted' back up and was eating, that was all yesterday.
now all she wants to do is sit up out of the water on her log, which is really puzzling me. the male is happy in the water, but the female wants nothing to do with it, what am i missing?
do i just have a messed up newt (then again, from the trip she took, can't blame her) or is there something wrong?

I had one of my sals escape and I found him behind his tank stand the next morning. He was hardly moving and I thought he was dead. I put him in the tank and he sat in the water for hours everyday for like a week. He wouldn't eat or come out for a long time. But I isolated him and spoiled him rotten like everybody has told me to do and now he is back to normal. Maybe, my opinion, was that she got stressed from being dried out. I would just give her some time to feel better. This is a great place for advice and I'm sure all the smart people will help you. I was just letting you know that my sal survived his traumatic night.

its usually normal...SO ive heard... i keep warties but they prefer inside the water ask jen or nate... they should know!

check water quality for the "hay" of it, and the TEMPS. although the others would show signs too one would think,if something were wrong.

The Misgurnus might be bothering the newt? Because they can grow a foot Im sure when the loach wiggles around to swim, it might "hit" the newt and annoy it. It also will compete for food unless you hand feed. I wouldnt trust warty newts with axols, only because the wartys tend to be aggresive during feeding and such and like to grab/bite things , such as the axols legs, gills. It could happen but thought Id say it even if it doesnt to you. I had a warty escape into a dryer concrete floor and after finding it sitting still the next day, it took back into the water fine.

the loach isn't really bothering anyone, apart from the odd 'taste' he's a nice little guy. i've managed to get her to feed on bloodworm, and she's taken to the water, although she won't budge from her plant top just below the surface.
i've checked out the water, and everythings fine, temp is around 18c.
i'm just thinking she's a bit stressed out, her mate is perfectly normal, so i guess it must be that.

check the other one isn't attacking the female - even males attack females with warty newts. AAlso check the axies aren't attacking her. It might be a good idea to separates the axies from the warties.

I have a female Paramesotriton Fuzhongensis, She likes to rest in my big plastic plant that breaks the surface slightly, but she keeps in the water. Nate told me that it was normal for the female as she might be gravid. I hope this information helps.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
