Well, back in Sydney after a trip to northern NSW, Australia.
Took lots of photos, especially for Thomas.

I think I had near 300 photos, after chopping the bad ones - so this is a major cut down haha.

So piccies, in no particular order.

Beach -

I went up for my great aunt's funeral, this is a bonfire we lit in her memory.

As promised, Thomas, Australian grass... on the way to the dam.

This is Toss, the cat.
She was named Toss as she was tossed away from previous owners.

Side the of the road. It was just recently smoothed out, before it was just rocks - very bumpy!

Anybody know what sort of frog this is?

Missed the Red Kangaroo pictures, unfortunately.

Storm, I was swimming only an hour beforehand!

After the storm, there were LOTS of Brown Striped Marsh frogs (Limnodynastes peronii) in the pool. I moved them to the dam.

I then found 50 more after this, and then more the following day.
I found these guys last time I went there, got some nicer photos... but can't be bothered to dig them up haha.
Also have a video of releasing them to the dam, don't want them in the pool with the nasty chemicals and such. Will have to upload vid later.

Some strange insect thingy... anybody know what it is??

roos, a kookaburra and an echidna! (or was it your aunt's pincushion?). To me, those are creatures out of books and nature shows. So cool. Are any of these rare, or do you see them all the time?

oh, yes - cool frogs too. Was that a White's treefrog?

Yep that was a whites tree frog, echidnas arn't seen often, Kookabaras are everywhere so are roos and wallabies The unknown insect is a water scorpion I think, or a giant water beetle.

What Matt said - yes, a lovely little White's Tree Frog, Kookaburras, roos, and wallabies are everywhere - although echindas are rarely seen.

That's an insane number of marsh frogs! It's almost like long-toed salamanders on breeding day!

The strange insect is a giant water bug [aka 'water scorpion']. It looks like there's a water/diving beetle in the middle of the bucket of frogs. Bugs have that triangular pronotum between the head and wings, and four wings. Beetles have the front wings formed into a shell that covers the hind wings.

Yep, its a diving beetle with the frogs, after the floods we had them in plague proportions in Brisbane.

An eel that was found in the other dam (after the frogs were released... I assume they would be in this dam as well). We were looking for yabbies hehe.
Highlight of my day.

This is probably THE worst photo of me, like ever... but I'm holding an eel so it's still ok hehehe.

No idea what this is.... saw it when I was poking around for snakes (I then got banned from that... too many deadly snakes around and such).
