I was feeding my young larvae, ( few months old) with bloodworms and a worm stuck out of the head of one, it was behind the jaw, at the base of the gills.. im freaked out, what could have caused this and is there anything I can do to help it out?
Thanks

I had this with my adult a couple of weeks ago, really scared me! Apparently it is normal, the food is just coming out of normal gill slits. I've noticed it happens a few times with my adult now when I feed her bloodworms and she eats them quicker than she probably should, they all come out from the slits then go back in. Now I know it is normal it is quite amusing to watch :) But there's no need to worry

ah haha, i did wonder as I recalled seeing it here before.. thanks :)

One of mine does this a lot, especially with the frozen bloodworm.

Eventually they get rid of it, usually by opening and closing their mouths again.

Hehe, this has happened to mine a couple of times... They just stayed VERY still, as if they were saying 'ARGH.. I've got a worrrrrm sticking out of my heaaaad' but eventually it works loose :)
