Hipachytriton gone wild!

My pachytriton labiatus is very very active recently, much more than usual. She goes around trying to climb on the glass (she's always tried that though) and she goes out of the water on the islands a lot (that she never did). When she's out she usually wanders around a while than sticks her head in the water and looks inside for a few minutes and goes back in. I did water tests and changes, it's all fine (PH, Nitrate, amonia). The only thing I can think of is that I went away for a month and the temperature in the tank was around 50-55F for that period and now that I'm back it's raised to around 65. Could it be she thinks it's spring and is trying to migrate and find a mate or something like that?
thanx

Try doing a water change. Is there more than one of them? If you have a couple, ne is more than likely attacking the other, trying to drive it from its territory. Even male/female pairs can be very aggressive towards one another.

I did a water change, I do every week. She has no mate, think I should I get her one? Probably not heh, I've had her for 6 months and she never was this active, I guess I'm wondering if there's a normal activity cycle she's going to follow over a year, like real active in the spring, slow down in winter, etc
thank you for your input.

How much water is there - pachytriton don't really need more than some floating corkbark. Perhaps if you have lots of land the water is not enough to buffer against fluctuations in temps etc. Is he feeding still? Climbing up against the glass is not unususal, but if she starts jumping out of the water and/or refusing food when she would normally take it over a long period of time indicate sommat bad - look out for these. Temps sound good. If you wanna get a mate - you need a large tank with tons of rocky hiding places to break up line of sight,
Good luck
Chris

There's about 25 gallons of water, but you're right about fluctuations, I mean it's around 55-60F at night, 60-65F in the day in the week but it can go up higher through the weekends when I'm there and crank the heat up. She's eating fine and has healthy coloring, and I haven't seen her out of the water last night,

seems she slowed down.
thanx for the tips, I want to breed her sometime, but I'll wait a while to see what happens
