Himalayan Crocodile Newt Pregnancy Help !!!

I currently have 2 Himalayan Crocodile Newts and 1 is very larger than the other more round and plump, it is female so I think she is pregnant but how long does the pregnancy last for, how long will it be until she lays her eggs since mating ?

Please help,

Many Thanks

It's normal for females to be much rounder and fatter, and she may be full of eggs, but this does not necessarily mean she will lay them. If your newts haven't been courting and the male hasn't deposited spermatophores, she will just reabsorb the eggs.

Over winter, their viv should have been fairly dry, but drenching it with water and putting in a large, deep water container will help to stimulate mating activity. They will court/mate in the water, but eggs may be laid there or on land.

Are the animals being kept in an aquatic or terrestrial setup? If they are on land, they will not have mated unless they have a large water dish. The caresheet on caudata culture here: http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Tylototriton/T_verrucosus.shtml

has info on mating habits and laying times in the 'Breeding' section towards the end of the article.
