Using the API 5 in 1 test strips, my General hardness turns up the highest level, at 180 ppm. Is this potentially harmful?

I've had my axolotl in the same municipal water with high general hardness for over a year.

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with him, but I'm wondering if there could be long term negative effects?

Thanks!

Axolotls prefer the water be on the hard side. Have you tested pH? High GH and alkaline pH usually go together. I wouldn't worry too much as long as the pH is fine. Test strips can be a bit unreliable though if you are not using them exactly right.
