Hi! So recently I got Stanley a nice big piece of mopani wood. He loves it! Now he also has a hideout cave, but I've been seeing some wear on it and I'd honestly rather take it out. I usually have the tank light off, though it doesn't seem to bother him. Would this piece of mopani be enough of a hideout till I find a better one? Plus his tank looks better without the cave in my opinion.

I would think so but the more hides you have the better they'll be as long as there's still space from them to walk around and it's not too crowded.

I think he'd feel better with some more hides. You could always try adding another piece of driftwood, or perhaps add some plants. Axolotls love hiding under plants :)

Or you could create your own cave with real rocks and some aquarium silicone :)
The possibilities of axolotl hides are endless.

Where can you get aquarium silicone? And thanks guys!

You can get safe silicone at home depot or Lowe's. Just make sure you get the tube that clearly states aquarium safe on it :)
