Hiccuping?

My newt can't keep anything down, even just small bloodworms, it wil swallow it so hard it closes it's eyes and do it several times, eventually it just falls out of it's mouth, i recently cleaned rock substrate out of my tank and I worry it might have a rock in it's throat although any other possibilies would be welcomed too... any ideas?

Try feeding it smaller things and take it to a vet you might want to break the food down more with your hands before you feed it.
