Are there any species of salamander or newts that dont need to hibernate to breed? If I dont intend on breeding do any species have to hibernate anyways?
What species of newt and salamander can rely soley on earthworms and night crawlers with vitamen and mineral supplements? And if I wanted to feed them pellets do i have to make the pellets move to encourage the salamanders to eat.
I dont have a salamader and am looking for a nice species to keep,

Can you define what you mean by hibernate? Most need to get cooler in winter to breed, but there are some that don't need to get very cold. And almost none of them hibernate in the sense of becoming inactive. What is the temp range that you are able to provide (summer max and winter min)?

I would say that most newts/sals can rely solely on earthworms and nightcrawlers. Very few will eat pellets, but if they do, then no, you don't have to make the pellets move. (Nor do you have to make the pieces of earthworm move, once they have learned to eat them.)

I was just wondering if they became inactive. So when they slow down to breed, they still feed and walk around in their cage.
