Anyone interested in getting out and doing some field work is welcome to come on Saturday.

We will be meeting on Michigan State University property (the commuter parking lot) at 8 am. From there, we will split into teams and survey sites around campus. Most sites were covered last year, and coverboards were laid out. We made some interesting finds last year, and are hoping to make some again this year.

Please join us!

Anyone needing directions, feel free to email me.

PS: FREE LUNCH!!

Since this is this weekend, I thought I'd slide this back to the top!

I'll have some animals there (as I'll be preparing to go to do a demonstration, and will miss the morning of the survey), so if anyone's interested, it's going to be a gorgeous day

I'd love to come but I am going to do a small Herp Field survey of my own in my area. Besides I have no way to get there... I wish I could Come. Good luck and I hope you find many interesting critters.

UGH! plans were ready to go, and now I cannot make it to the Herp Survey! I wish I could attend! It is too far out of our way, (we have to be downtown detroit that afternoon for 4:00pm) I am very disappointed and am still seeing any way around it. If ou could provide detailed driving instructions, Kasie, that would help out a lot!
hope there's pictures, etc. online!

Kara, fire me off an email and let me know if you're taking the bridge or the tunnel across, and I'll see what I can do.

Kara, I sent you back an email, but it ended up coming in two pieces. Let me know if you'd like me to resend it.

Still trying to figure out if I can attend or not, things are not looking so good...In May, when my car is on the road, I will have more travelling freedom.
Are there anymore events planned for late spring/summer?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
