ok i know i asked about floating a while back. but mookie is still floating. i kept him in the fridge for 2 days. he still floated when i put him in the tank. can someone tell me how long i should keep him in the fridge and how i can tell if hes cured??? hes doing some serious floating. he cant even touch the bottom.

bookie - if the axolotl is struggling to try and get to the bottom of the tank you need to put it in a food safe container with just enough water in it to cover the axolotl. Put it in the fridge.

This low water level will help it gain its footing and stay upright.

Axolotls can stay in the fridge up to 30 days.

Is your axolotl eating?

Keep in mind that axolotls do what is called "hangout" where they float sometimes for hours with their legs out to their sides. If this is the kind of floating your axolotl is doing that is perfectly normal.

yea he's eating. but when i see him try to go to the bottom he jus floats right back up no matter how hard he swim. and he if do reach the bottom. his tail end floats up while he hangs on to the rocks

he might just have an air bubble in his belly and its making its way to the back end.lol. id put him in a tub with water thats low enough for him to keep his feet on the ground and stick it in the fridge. hopefully if its an airbubble it will come out sooner or later.

sometimes my adults swim to the bottom then float to the top and i see this as normal. their tails also float up too and this again i see as normal.
