Im just a newby with a axolotls. I haven't got mine but im setting up the tank getting the temperture ready for it. I was wondering if you guys had any tips for me. I wanna make sure the fish has the best care.

- Keep the tank cool (as your in the UK you should be alright but never let it go over 23 degrees. C.. and under 18 decrees C is recommended)
- Get a good filter (depending on tank size I find canister filters are the best)
- Oh make sure your tank had a good amount of space for your axi to roam around
- Get a master test kit (you need pH, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite tests)
- Sand (thin layer) or bare bottom tank only (no gravel!!!)
- Make sure there is somewhere your axi can hide (pvc piped are good for this)
- Don't keep anything with really sharp edges in your axi tank as they have very fragile skin
- Have a supply of earthworms to feed your axolotl

Also... axolots aren't fish... they are amphibians

I decided I was getting an axie, (or four) about three months ago. Since then I have spent every day reading loads of the threads on here, there is a wealth of information to be learnt. I've only just got them. axolotl.org is a very good place to start.

I have been reading lots of links on the internet! I will be sure to read your links :) thanks for the help.
