Hi, just wanted to start by saying this forum has been a life saver for me and my first axolotl. I really appreciate how easily accessible information is here. So now for my question, I got my first axolotl about a week ago now and I've been working on tank cycling this whole time. When I set up my filter I unknowingly used ammo carb with my sponge from a established tank. When I realized my mistake I took the ammo carb out and put a sponge from another established tank back in the filter. I also rinsed the old filter media from my established tank in the new tank. I tested the water this morning and everything is still reading zero. I'm worried that traces of ammo carb are still in the tank the 0 readings are confusing to me. Is all my BB going to starve again because of that? I don't think I can tank any more media out of my larger tanks as I don't want to put them through a cycle. Also through out all of this my baby axolotl is hanging out in a nice container that I do 100% daily water changes to. Any advice is welcome, thank you for reading :)

Ps. I also wanted to add the new tank I'm trying to cycle is a 20 gallon long and all of the filter media is from larger tanks (40 US gallon and 90 US gallon) that have been going strong for years now with cichlids in them.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. I also asked this as an actual question in a thread in case anyone wants to answer it there instead of here
