My axie, Cad, is a little over a year old now and I'm having a bit of a nightmare trying to get her eating properly.
She turned her nose up at earthworms when I first got her but I was advised to blanche them first, and that seemed to work. For months she was eating fine.
Then, all of a sudden, she started refusing worms entirely. Wouldn't touch them, whether they were blanched or not - she might take half of one if she was really hungry but definitely no more than that.
I tried a couple different things on advice from folk here and from her breeder - she wouldn't touch sinking pellets and would only take a little Repashy paste now and then.
She seemed to like live river shrimp but I don't have the space or capability to run my own breeding stock, and the last lot I got from a local supplier were half dead when they arrived so I don't really want to go back there.
I think she's alright with bloodworms but I'm not certain as she spreads them all over the tank whenever I leave her some so it's hard to tell if she's actually eating them.

The only thing I've found that she'll reliably eat plenty of is prawn, but I get the impression from research that this isn't a great diet for her - that it's sort of like living off of big macs. And I think my own experience is bearing that out - I had to fridge her for a few days last week with what I think was constipation.
I'd really like to get her on a better diet after that, especially as I think she's on the too-skinny side, but I'm at a complete loss. Absolutely any advice anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated (I'm in the UK just for reference).

Have you tried a different type of worm perhaps ?
And after blanching put in a little garlic juice to soak for a few seconds.
Garlic is an appetite stimulant for aquatics but you need to only use it to get them going again or they become even fussier.

Some axolotls are fussy when their tank parameters are off - what level is everything testing at?

I will look into both of those suggestions, thanks! Hadn't heard that about garlic before.

Ammonia etc. levels are fine, but we have been struggling with the temperature - my cooling system broke a few weeks back and despite putting a new, identical, one together (twice over!) it just won't work again, which is baffling. I can usually keep the temp hovering at 18c with fans and ice packs but it's spiked to 20c for a few days when we had a bit of a heatwave
