HELP! tiger salamander's eye

hey everybody. I just noticed this on my tiger's eye and am very concerned. any idea what it is?

Hi, I can't help you specifically, but if you keep the animal with any others, then I would recommend that you isolate it (even a plastic box with an appropriate lid will do) and keep it in the same temperature/lighting/housing conditions to that of its original tank. If anything, cooler temperatures might be preferable, and provide shade and places for it to hide. Telephone any vets in your area just so that you know if there are any herp specialists locally (can't help to phone round)
Hopefully an admin will copy this thread into the 'Newt & Salamander' part of the forum, and you'll get some advice from people with experience soon enough :happy:

I moved this thread to the Help section.

To me it looks like a piece of coco-fiber substrate stuck to its skin and eye. Can you rinse it off? If not, then you should definitely move it to a paper towel setup so it doesn't dig and irritate the eye further.
