Help!! Need some advice please

Hi

I am currently researching for an essay I have to write on Salamanders & Newts and the different diseases that they can contract. I have become totally stuck trying to find anything about any viral diseases which they may suffer from. Can anyone help me out or even direct me to an informative website? After spending hours on the web searching I am getting desperate!!! Maybe these little guys don't get viral infections. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you. Loosha}}}

According to Amphibian Medicine and Captive Husbandry (Wright), there are numerous viruses that infect frogs. The book goes into detail about several. They don't mention any in salamanders. Most likely they exist, but perhaps aren't documented. You may have picked a topic where there just isn't much research.

That's iridovirus, not iridiovirus (spelling might matter if you are doing a google search).

Funny, it took me all of 1 minute to find this site showing in part some iridoviruses that affect salamanders too, including A. tigrinum virus
