I am currently living in Utah. I have 2 axolotls, one who is about 1 year old and one who is about 6 months old. In 4 months I will be moving to Oregon. I am going to drive about 8 hours the first day, stop somewhere to sleep and drive the other 4 hours in the morning. I was wondering if anyone had any idea about how to keep them cold enough in the car and how to package them up for the drive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Possibly if you used a cooler or esky(I'm not sure what they call it in the states) it could work. Possibly you could fill it with water and some ice and put the axies in.
Or alternatively you could store the tank(filled with water and with the axies inside) and surround it with ice.

Hope the moving goes well

Go to the grocery store and buy the $5 styrofoam cooler usually found next to the beer isle. Go to almost any pet store and ask for a few (pref 4) of the biggest plastic fish bags they have and see if your axolotls will fit. You'll want to double bag them in case of leaks but basically fill them about half way. You want to get a little ice pack to put in there and then put them in. They will be just fine and you shouldn't open it up that often only to check on them.
