Hello everyone,

I recently picked up this little gal (7-8 years old). She is active, eats, poops, doesn’t float -all the good things. There were sores on the sides which seemed to be healing but now they look worse along with with lumps all along the one side.
the ammonia levels in the tank are also all good. I can’t seem to find anything to help me identify what is wrong or if it can be fixed.

i’m sorry but she looks deathly ill

Is euthanasia the only solution at this point?

That’s a relief! The wounds close over but then reopen again. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by them.

i would suggest upping her food intake and giving her tea baths to try to soothe the skin

Honestly speaking I think it would best to get her to a vet like asap. She looks very ill and may need some extra tlc that a vet can assist with. Whatever that's going is it looks very serious her skin is nearly gone near her tummy. I am not a fan of killing any animals especially when there's experts that can assist. Try doing more frequent water changes, tea baths, add some catappa leafs, and stay on top of her. Good luck.
To add she looks on the malnourished side try giving some more heavier food like night crawlers and fatty pellets to help plump her up.
