I got this tiger salamander larva on Christmas Eve and he's been just fine up until this morning. He has just been floating up on his side for a couple hours with periodic wiggling. I fed him 2 days ago and he's okay and ate fine. He is in the fridge now which is what I've been reading on here is the thing to do for this but it doesn't seem to be working and I'm very worried. Please help. image.jpg

The photo is taken at a strange angle, I don't get where it has been taken from, underneath? Smaller larvae normally float, sometimes on their sides. But that is because they can't control their buoyancy, and it doesn't normally effect them negatively. Fridging, why? Fridging doesn't just prevent it from dying. It's very stressful and only helps if your animal is constipated or is seriously injured, it may have just made things worse.

Sometimes they will float for no reason, though I find larvae will often float when they have empty stomachs - they become full of air.
