Question: Help is needed as soon as possible please.

Hey guys how are we all today?
Well I'm going to get right on the problem, firstly my axolotls name is Junior.
I have revived junior 2 weeks ago as a present, as of that time the last week he has not eaten any food what so ever. I have Hikari sinking pellets which I was told by the retailer is his staple food. I have spent hours holding the pellet infront of him, close to his mouth.... I have even dropped the pellet between his eyes close to his mouth..... I have also placed the pellets on the rock for him to eat it him self............ No luck what so ever with any attempts.

My tank is used to be sand and I have topped on top of that a layer of pebbles which I have washed well.

The other day I observed him doing some very strange behavior... He was having a 'fit' like experience where he kept swallowing water and his body was shaking at the same time, it started off rather minor but it escalated to a point where I was worried for its life.

This is really stressing me out, I like him quite a bit.. I really don't want him to die... Please help me someone.

First, how big are the pebbles? If they are smaller than the axie's head they are a risk to be swallowed.

Did you test your water parameters? (pH, ammonia, nitrites, temp)

Also, you can try other foods, like earthworms, those are great but be sure to get them from a garden or some place where they don't use any chemical in the soil.

While those symptoms don't exactly mean bad water it wouldn't hurt to run down the specs of your tank. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, ect.
