I was trying to remove some old plant matter that was stuck to one of the eggs with my turkey baster.. and it must of popped the egg because the baby swam 15cm across the breeding net!!!!!!

He's the only one hatched what do I do??? Does this mean the rest of my babies are ready?? Should I seperate him or leave him there?? My BBS isn't ready yet.. AARRGGHHHH help!!!!!

Hi you don't have to feed bbs for 24 hours as it will still have yolk n it's belly. I would seperate it into a tub with fresh dechlorinated water and make sure you get bb hatchery up and going also try and gt the temp of the bbs up to make em hatch quicker. Just don't panic. Accidents happen but try not to disturb any others.

also if you fail with bbs you can always try daphnia.

I started my first hatchery 2 days ago so any time now.. I started a second today so they should be here any time now..

I will seperate him/ her now. Thankyou!

Best of luck and remember to post lots of pictures of your new additions.

Have him in his own tub, dechlorinated water, with some java moss (I heard live plants were important for babies). Gonna call him Earl for 'Early' hehe.. :)

Aww sounds like he's in good hands. Don't worry if he doesn't move much either they tend just to lay about at that size. I raised all four of mine from eggs, it's a very exciting axperience. Never stopped watching them though haha. Well fingers crossed for baby Earl.

Here is little Earl (for early), he looks like a Golden Albino I think.. so cute and tiny!
