So, I have 3 Eastern newts that live together and have bred in the past. They were living in the pictured gravel bottom tank with some guppies and snails.
I was moving them to a different setup without fish and hoping that they would give me some more eggs with the upcoming warm weather.
I was then taking apart their old tank to use for some different fish when I found some baby newts.
It looks like they have laid 2 clutches of eggs without my noticing!
I found both of these baby newts today.
Can anyone think of a way to check the gravel in the bottom of the tank for more tiny babies without hurting them?
