Illness/Sickness: Help baby axolotl floating !!!!

I there everyone , I need some help with my baby axolotl , he is 3 months old and since this afternoon he started to float on the top of the tank , so I took him and put him in the freezer for 5
Minutes , and I also put some ice water bottles inside the tank , the temperature is 68 F , he was fine after I put him in the freezer but now he start to float again , please help me , what do I do ?

First, don't panic. Sometimes, particularly when they are young, they float without it being the symptom of a problem. Some young ones I was raising floated for a couple of weeks, but outgrew it later.

They seem more prone to floating when they are hungry. I don't know why. Some sometimes feeding them more helps.

I don't recommend fridging him unless you have reason to believe it is caused by severe constipation. It is stressful to be chilled like that.

Just keep feeding him and observing him for a few days. If he seems stressed by not being able to get to the bottom, either lower the water level or give him something (like an overturned flower pot to give him a submerged surface to stand on (and eat from) that is near the top of the water.

Axolotls love to stress out their owners this way. I don't know why on that either. :happy:
